WBL 100 - Exploring Careers

New course to provide for career exploration for undecided and concurrent enrollment students. The course is intended to assist students exploring potential occupations and the related IVCCD programs that would lead to developing the skills and knowledge to become successful in those occupations. This course would be taught by faculty/adjuncts eligible to teach SDV courses, whether they are offered on campus, online, or at the high schools.

Course Learning Outcomes
Students will be able to:

Utilize resources to research career options with regard to self-assessment results, employment trends, and labor market information.
Create a resume and cover letter, participate in a job interview, complete and employment application.
Develop a professional image and practice business etiquette.
Demonstrate workplace skills of understanding, cultural sensitivity, adaptability, collegiality, empathy, and polite behavior.
