This course presents a survey of microorganisms with morphology, physiology, taxonomy, and the relationship of microorganisms to disease. The lab will include procedures for culturing, identifying, and manipulating microorganisms.
Course Learning Outcomes
- Apply understanding of scientific study in reference to microbiological organisms.
- Differentiate characteristics of each major group of microbes.
- Distinguish between bacteria, archaea, eukaryotes, and viruses.
- Analyze importance of molecular processes and applications.
- Examine concepts relating to infectious disease, epidemiology, and immunology.
