SDV 208 - The College Experience for International Students

This course introduces International students to United States college expectations, environment, and resources so that they may become more competent participants in the learning process. Emphasis is placed on accessing resources to enhance the International students’ experiences and success while studying in the United States.



Course Learning Outcomes
1. The learner should be able to distinguish between United States and country of origin college coursework and environments.
2. The learner should be able to paraphrase the values of academic integrity and scholarship, particularly related to cheating and plagiarism
3. The learner should be able to point out the importance of participation in college events, clubs, or activities
4. The learner should be able to define the terms used in the academic environment.
5. The learner should be able to summarize the policies governing student academic and personal conduct, Student Rights & Responsibilities, and policies governing international students.
