MAT 077 - College Preparatory Math 2 Prerequisites: NextGen ACCUPLACER arithmetic score of 250 or more, ACT math score of 15 or more or grade of C- or better in MAT 074 DEVELOPMENTAL CREDIT TYPE Varied credit(s)
This course is a continuation of MAT 074 . It provides students with the knowledge necessary for success in college-level mathematics courses. Students will work at their own pace through a sequence of modules. Using a computer-based delivery system, students will master objectives over polynomials, factoring, linear and absolute value equations and inequalities, systems of linear equations and inequalities, complex numbers and quadratic equations. It is designed for students who did not complete Modules 1 - 8 when taking MAT 074 . Completion of Modules 5 - 8 is required for 3 hours of credit.
Course Learning Outcomes
Prepare students for college level math involving algebra. This includes two modules (5 and 6)
Module 5: Demonstrate the ability to graph in a rectangular coordinate system, and with systems of equations.
Module 6: Demonstrate the ability to work with exponents and polynomials. |
Prepare students for the college level math they need, by completing 2 of the 4 available modules 7, 8, 9, and 10.
Module 7: Demonstrate the ability to factor trinomials, and solve quadratic equations by factoring.
Module 8: Demonstrate the ability to solve quadratic equations using methods other than factoring.
Module 9: Demonstrate the ability to work with basic interest rate related calculations in preparation for taking Math for Liberal Arts.
Module 10: Demonstrate the ability to work with basic statistical concepts, in preparation for taking statistics. |
