Prerequisites:
NextGen ACCUPLACER arithmetic score of 250 or more, ACT math score of 15 or better, or MAT 052  
DEVELOPMENTAL CREDIT TYPE

Number systems, solutions of equations and inequalities, polynomials, rational expressions, exponents, radicals and complex numbers. Not a transfer course.



Course Learning Outcomes
1. Cite and apply mathematical definitions.
a) Identify real numbers (natural numbers, whole numbers, rational and irrational)
b) Apply rules and properties of real numbers (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, exponents and roots).

2. Cite and apply mathematical rules.
a) Apply the order of operations to correctly evaluate a numerical expression.
b) Simplify expressions involving whole numbers, exponents, radicals and rational fractions.

a) Apply properties used in conjunction with linear functions
b) Plot a function by making a list of ordered pairs.
