This course provides students with a basic understanding of biomedical and dental sciences including: oral pathology and disease processes, pharmacology and therapeutics, including emergency treatment.
Course Learning Outcomes 1. Demonstrate knowledge of the structure and function of the human body.
2. Apply the knowledge of the structure and function of the human body to the medical history of the dental patient.
3. Summarize the names and actions of common drugs and medications used in dental treatments.
4. Interpret the names and actions of common drugs and medications prescribed to patients by their physicians as recorded on the medical history.
5. Recall the laws that govern the use of common drugs and medications in dental treatments.
