AGA 284 - Pesticide Application Certification Prerequisites: AGA 114 CAREER AND TECHNICAL CREDIT TYPE 3 credit(s)
Approved and legal use of pesticides, Integrated Pest Management, pest identification and proper application of pesticides will be areas of study. Environmental safety, plus state and federal laws as well as employer requirements and licensing are also studied. Students prepare for state exams.
Course Learning Outcomes
1. Demonstrate safe application, disposal and cleaning of pesticide application equipment. |
2. Locate current laws and regulations governing pesticide application in the Midwest. |
3. Distinguish how soil and environmental conditions affect pesticide application. |
4. Demonstrate proper calibration of application equipment to ensure proper application rates for area sprayed. |
5. Identify common pests and disorders of Midwest crops. |
