Students in this course will travel abroad to explore the interconnected world of agriculture. This unique program offers a comprehensive exploration of agricultural practices, challenges, and innovations on an international scale, providing students with a deep understanding of the global agricultural landscape. This course is open to students of all majors with an interest in agriculture, sustainability, and global issues. Topics covered in this course include history, geography, culture, food, language, and agriculture-specific topics. This course can be repeated with different content for credit.



Course Learning Outcomes
 

  1. Demonstrate knowledge of the host country’s culture through course content specific to the individual program’s curriculum and academic focus.
  2. Develop an awareness of cultural and agricultural differences and an understanding of their role in shaping beliefs, practices, and perceptions.
  3. Develop new perspectives on one’s own culture and an ability to think critically about one’s own values, beliefs, and goals as it relates to their academic focus.
  4. Obtain the skills to manage the new challenges of daily life in a different culture which will develop a greater sense of responsibility for oneself.
