Study of Animal phyla, including structure, function, diversity, evolutionary relationships and conservation. Laboratory studies include identification of animals within each phylum and comparative anatomy of selected groups.
Course Learning Outcomes
- Describe the evolutionary relationships within the Animal Kingdom.
- Identify the major Animal phyla and their primary characteristics.
- Compare and contrast the Anatomy and Physiology of the organ systems among the major animal phyla.
- Discuss Ecological principles that affect conservation of animal species.
