Examine differing aspects of sport marketing and the application of basic principles of sport marketing to the managed sport industry with emphasis on intercollegiate athletics, professional sport, and multi-sport club operations. Additionally, students gain an understanding of up-to-date marketing concepts as they are currently being applied in various sectors of the sport industry.
Course Learning Outcomes 1. Explain sport marketing theory and how it can be used in the sport industry to meet the wants and needs of the sport consumer
2. Develop effective sport marketing plans based on data-driven decision making and time-tested marketing principles
3. Analyze case studies in sport to recognize sound marketing decisions and to articulate sport marketing solutions for various constituents
