MAT 128 - Precalculus


Prerequisites:
Primary placement method used for any student whose high school transcript can be interpreted for use with the calculation spreadsheet:  High School GPA + High School Math composite calculation >= 5.5

or an ACT Math score of at least 25

or an ACCUPLACER Quantitative Reasoning score of at least 260

or a C- or better in MAT121 College Algebra

Students can only gain credit from MAT128 OR MAT129, not both.

Learn the fundamentals to be successful in a calculus course; it is beneficial (but not required) for the student to have a background in trigonometry. The course will emphasize functions using an analytical, numerical, and graphical approach. The student will study linear, polynomial, rational, exponential, logarithmic and trigonometric functions along with their applications.
