Completion of CHM 173 or CHM 175 with a grade of C- or higher. Or instructor’s approval.

A study of the synthesis, properties and uses of common classes of organic compounds with emphasis on nomenclature, structural principles, and reaction mechanisms. Alkanes, alkenes, alkynes, alcohols, ethers, polymers, stereo-chemistry and benzene are covered. Course is Lecture only.
