CHM 163 - General Chemistry I


Prerequisites:
High school chemistry or CHM 122   within the past 5 years (with B or above) and 2 years high school algebra or equivalent college math.

A systematic study of the principles of inorganic chemistry with emphasis on scientific measurement, atomic structure, chemical bonding, nomenclature, stoichiometry and chemical reactions. Course is Lecture only.  



Course Learning Outcomes
  1. Perform quantitative manipulations occurring during chemical and physical changes.
  2. Examine the properties of matter qualitatively.
  3. Examine atomic structure of matter.
  4. Examine the chemical forces that hold the components of matter together.
