WEL 208 - Introduction to Fabrication CAREER AND TECHNICAL CREDIT TYPE 2 credit(s)
Provides students with hands on fabrication basics used by welding industries. Covers lay out, reading blueprints, applied math, cost estimation, jigs and fixtures, and introduction to shearing, bending, drilling, sawing and other manufacturing processes.
Course Learning Outcomes
1. Properly measure and mark utilizing various tools and references. |
2. Students will demonstrate knowledge of fixturing and creating small sub weldments for fixtures. |
3. Student will show skills learned by creating a project utilizing layout and marking techniques, preparation and fitup, correct tacking and welding procedures. |
4. Evaluate welds to ensure AWS D.1.1 standards are met. |
