MAT 158 - Statistics II

Grade C- or better in MAT 156

This course builds on the foundations of the first statistics course, by covering: Inferences from one or two samples; correlation, linear and nonlinear regression, prediction intervals, multiple regression; analysis of variance (one-way and two-way); test independence and goodness-of-fit; intro to nonparametric statistics. Use computers to visualize and analyze data.



Course Learning Outcomes
1. Perform inference tests on one sample, two samples, or three or more samples.
2. Analyze linear and non-linear relationships between one or more explanatory variables and one response variable.
3. Test claims about categorical data using z and chi-squared distributions
4. Analyze non-normal data using non-parametric statistics
5. Use software to analyze data sets.
