ECE 158 - Early Childhood Curriculum I STANDARD CREDIT TYPE 3 credit(s)
Learn the development, implementation, and assessment of appropriate environments and curricula for young children ages three through eight. Prepare to utilize developmentally appropriate practices in a context of family and culturally sensitive care. Develop understanding of children’s developmental stages and developing appropriate learning opportunities, interactions, and environments in the following area: dramatic play, art, music, fine and gross motor play.
Course Learning Outcomes
1. The learner should be able to demonstrate knowledge of basic environmental requirements in an early childhood setting. |
2. The learner should be able to implement evidence-based and developmentally appropriate learning opportunities in the areas of dramatic play, art, music and movement, and physical play for children of varying abilities. |
3. The learner should be able to synthesize a variety of approaches to curriculum planning. |
