DSL 837 - Commercial Driver’s License & Tools

STANDARD CREDIT TYPE

Covers certification for Commercial Driver’s License concepts. Students will learn concepts that may lead to obtaining a CDL license, as well as learn how to operate heavy equipment and utilize common hand tools related to the job.



Course Learning Outcomes
1. Acquire a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) in order to drive company equipment.
2. Demonstrate correct Pre-Trip Inspection (Successfully pass pre-trip inspection test)
3. Demonstrates ability to drive with truck and trailer (Successfully pass the driving test)
4. Acquire DOT information for pre-trip inspections
5. Successfully pass the written test based on the Department of Transportation (DOT) manual for CDL
6. Explain interstate and intrastate requirements
