Concepts and characteristics of human diseases, focusing on etiology, epidemiology, health promotion and education. Emphasis on understanding the relationship between clinical signs/symptoms and the disease process.



Course Learning Outcomes
1. Outline the pathogenesis of disease in infectious and noninfectious disorders. 
2. Describe basic concepts of epidemiology in the study of disease.
3. Summarize the basic concepts relating to the physiology of disease, including the major determinants of disease.
4. Predict the role of predisposing factors in disease progression.
