Presents an in-depth, hands-on approach to managing a purebred and/or commercial cow/calf herd. This course will cover calving management, nutrition, health, records, breeding, and pasture management.



Course Learning Outcomes
1. Demonstrate various cattle cow/calf management skills including vaccinations, nutrition, calf processing, and other management and handling skills.
2. Identify common cow and calf health issues.
3. Describe the scope and trends of modern cow-calf operations.
4. Evaluate and select beef cattle for carcass and reproductive traits.
