AGE 220 - Young Horse Care and Handling

Grade of C- or better in AGE 175 and AGE 214 or instructor’s approval

Provides the skills necessary to start a weanling in its training, including handling, grooming, training, and showmanship methods. All students participate in a showmanship class at the end of the course.

Course Learning Outcomes

1. Demonstrate safety and apply basic horse husbandry techniques.

2. Develop training and showmanship skills for leading and longeing a horse.
