The course is designed for the student who may or may not have had high school bookkeeping. The course presents the fundamental concepts of the accounting cycle for service and merchandising businesses as a sole proprietorship. Additional topics include cash control and payroll.
Course Learning Outcomes 1. Analyze business transactions using double-entry accounting.
2. Create financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
3. Implement strategies for managing cash.
4. Calculate Social Security, Medicare, and federal income tax withholdings.
