Exercise Science and Kinesiology, Transfer Major AS

This program provides an educational foundation for students interested in studying either Exercise Science or Kinesiology upon transfer to a baccalaureate degree program.

Exercise Science and Kinesiology Term One


Students interested in Exercise Science should take BIO 105  Introductory Biology.  
Students interested in Kinesiology should take BIO 112  General Biology I. 

If you have not met the prerequisite for PHY 162 , College Physics I, taken in Term Three, you must take MAT 128  (4 credits) or MAT 129  (5 credits) Pre-calculus in Term One. This will count toward total Elective credits. 

If students do not need to take MAT 128  (4 credits) or MAT 129  (5 credit) Pre-calculus, then choose a 3 to 4 credit elective. 

Exercise Science and Kinesiology Term Two


Students interested in Kinesiology should take BIO 113  General Biology II. This counts toward total Elective credits. 

Students interested in Exercise Science should choose a 3 to 4 credit Elective. 

All students select one (3 credit) course from the AA Approved Courses from Humanities or Social/Behavorial Science Lists. See Advising Note Two.

Exercise Science and Kinesiology Term Three


Select one (3 credit) course from the AA Approved Courses from Humanities or Social/Behavioral Science Lists. See Advising Note Two. 

Exercise Science and Kinesiology Term Four


Select one (3 credit) course from the AA Approved Courses from Humanities or Social/Behavorial Science Lists. See Advising Note Two. 

Choose 11 to 13  Elective credits depending on previous elective courses taken.

Advising Note One


You should seek the help of an academic advisor in selecting your electives.  Selecting the wrong electives may lengthen the time it takes to earn your Bachelor’s degree after you transfer.  Electives that you may need may not be offered every semester, so it may be necessary to swap terms and combine or split credits with other electives. 

Advising Note Two


A minimum of 3 credits of AA Approved Courses from the Humanities List and 3 credits of AA approved Courses from the Social/Behaviorial Science List must be completed.

Electives


All transfer courses may be used here including courses listed above (if additional are taken beyond requirements). Students should plan their elective courses according to their college major if they are planning to transfer on for a four year degree.

A maximum of 16 hours of vocational-technical credits may apply toward elective credit with a maximum of 9 of the 16 being independent projects or experimental courses. No more than 6 activity credits (those having prefixes of PEA, MUA, and some MUS courses) may be applied to elective credits. Developmental courses do not apply towards degree requirements.
