Educate students on how to provide basic emergency medical care and transportation for critical and noncritical patients who access the emergency medical system.
Course Learning Outcomes 1. Describe and discuss the role, legal and ethical responsibilities of EMT, and how that plays inside the EMS system.
2. Identify and list the various systems and functions, using appropriate medical terminology.
3. Discuss the role of aerobic versus anaerobic metabolism.
4. Discuss the composition of ambient air blood components, and the transport and oxygenation of blood; mechanics of ventilation of functions of the myocardium, and the role vascular resistance plays in blood pressure and microcirculation.
