Analyze circuits and components of automated control systems, with emphasis on the operation and application of solid-state devices and programmable controllers.​



Course Learning Outcomes
1. Study the operation and programming of DC motor drives.

2. Study the operation and programming of stepper motors and drives.

3. Study the operation and programming of servo motors and drives.

4. Demonstrate the ability to interface DC, stepper, and servo motor systems with programmable logic controllers (PLCs). 

5. Implement control logic for sequencing, positioning, and coordinated motion.

6. Apply industry safety standards and best maintenance practices when installing, configuring, or servicing advanced motor drive and motion control systems.
