IND 115 - General Workplace Safety

Introduces students to an overview of workplace safety, with an emphasis on recognizing, avoiding, and preventing of health and safety hazards in workplace environments. Students successfully completing this course will be eligible to test for the General Industry OSHA-10 Certification.



Course Learning Outcomes
1. Recognize the importance of OSHA in regulating employee safety in the workplace.

2. Summarize employees’ rights and employers’ responsibilities regarding workplace safety.

3. Recognize various manufacturing processes, tasks, and equipment and identify corresponding safety and health hazards present in the workplace.

4. Implement respective corrective actions to potential hazards.
