Use of lab equipment, measuring techniques, familiarization with circuit components, and experiment with electrical circuits.
Course Learning Outcomes
- Use electric principles and theories to create and analyze electric circuits in a laboratory situation.
- Explain the basic electrical properties of voltage, current, resistance, capacitance, and inductance.
- Explain concepts of DC and AC circuits including series, parallel, and series-parallel circuits.
- Explain Ohm’s Law (R=E/I) and the variables of resistance, voltage, and current.
- Explain the power formula (P=EI) and the variables of power, voltage, and current.
- State how power is generated and distributed.
- Set up and safely use electric equipment in a laboratory situation.
- Inspect work area and equipment for a safe working environment.
- Interpret component identifiers and read schematics containing RCL devices.
