Study of Animal phyla, including structure, function, diversity, evolutionary relationships and conservation. Laboratory studies include identification of animals within each phylum and comparative anatomy of selected groups.



Course Learning Outcomes
  1. Describe the evolutionary relationships within the Animal Kingdom.
  2. Identify the major Animal phyla and their primary characteristics.
  3. Compare and contrast the Anatomy and Physiology of the organ systems among the major animal phyla.  
  4. Discuss Ecological principles that affect conservation of animal species.
