Serves as an advanced gunsmithing course in firearms repair theory. Includes design, function, takedown, troubleshooting, assembly and repair of selected shotguns, rifles, and handguns. Also covers the use of specialized tools and fixtures.

Course Learning Outcomes

Demonstrate general shop safety practices.
Identify specialized tools and their functions.
Describe the cycle of operation, troubleshooting, and repair procedures for selected firearms.
Demonstrate proper takedown and assembly techniques for selected firearms.
Demonstrate how to properly clean and maintain a firearm for proper operation.
Demonstrate how to properly prepare and refinish a firearm: Bluing, Parkerizing, or Spray Coating.
