C- or better in MAT 019 

or C- or better in MAT 046 

or ACT Math score of 22 or better

or ACCUPLACER QAS score of 250 or better

or ACCUPLACER Arithmetic score of 265 or better and simultaneous enrollment in MAT 014  or better

or ALEKS score of 30 or better

This course is designed to provide students with a foundation in algebra. Topics include coordinate geometry, complex numbers, linear, quadratic, and polynomial expressions, functions, graphing, systems of linear equations, exponential and logarithmic expressions, and matrices.



Course Learning Outcomes
1. Utilize algebraic equations and reasoning to solve problems.

2. Evaluate and graph single variable linear, quadratic, and polynomial equations.

3. Solve for the zeros of equations using a variety of methods.

4. Solve problems involving rational expressions and unit conversions.
