Must be enrolled in the Medical Assistant Diploma  program.
Corequisites:
MAP 225  and MAP 550

Provides a basic background in the classification of drugs, their sources, uses and legal implications. Discusses characteristics of topical drugs, side effects, precautions, interactions and patient education.

1.   Define patient screening using established protocols
2.   Select and identify proper sites for administering parenteral medication.
3.   Apply oral medications protocol for dispensing.
4.  Applying knowledge of drug classifications.
