This course provides a basic background in the classification of drugs, their sources, uses and legal implications. Discuss characteristics of topical drugs, side effects, precautions, interactions and patient education.



Course Learning Outcomes
1. Identify the classifications of medications, desired effects, side effects, adverse reactions.
2. Describe relationship between A&P of body systems and meds used for treatment.
3. Use language/verbal skills that enable patient’s understanding.
4. Identify the abbreviations and the symbols used in calculating medication dosages.
5. Analyze charts, graphs, and/or tables in the interpretation of health care results.
