Construction and operation of the basic components of hydraulic systems; valves, cylinders, pumps, motors, fluid preparation devices, and fluid storage devices. Symbolic construction. Fluid power systems for power transmission and control purposes.
Course Learning Outcomes
- Demonstrate the ability to read and interpret hydraulic and pneumatic schematics, identifying components, symbols, and system flow to diagnose operational issues and optimize performance.
- Explain and apply principles of fluid mechanics, including flow, pressure, and force, to solve real-world problems in hydraulic and pneumatic systems relevant to industrial applications.
- Safely operate, adjust, and troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, using tools and diagnostic methods to address common malfunctions in fluid power systems.
