AGE 226 - Young Horse Training II

Prerequisites:
Grade of C- or better in AGE 145, AGE 214 and AGB 225 and instructor’s approval

Learn to safely green break a young horse, utilizing all the ground training skills and adding to them the actual mounting and riding at the walk, trot, and lope. Horse will become controlled at the different gaits and respond to directional cues.

Course Learning Outcomes

1. Develop the ability to ground drive at different gaits

2. Develop the ability to have horse stand quietly while being mounted and dismounted.
